Film Day...

24th November- We had visited the Coca- Cola factory yesteray and it ha been a good experience. Today our teachers showed us an informative movie about the the history of coca-cola.
Coca cola was 'invented' by American pharmacist, John Pemberton who was very keen to find a money-making product. He made Coca Cola syrup, mixed it with carbonated water and ice was added thus making a glass of coke. His creation was liked by people but Pemberton did not know how to promote the product. His business partner Robinson id most of the advertising then sold the small business to Asa Chandler after Pemberton's death. Asa Chandler, a druggist invested in Coca-Cola and began advertising or the company. One of the interesting facts I came across regarding their advertising was that the typical Santa we know today, fat, jolly in red and white, was originated from Coke ads. During war time Coca Cola faced problems but American soldiers saw Coke as a reminder of home. Coca-Cola soon came out in bottles. Coca-Cola was enjoyed by millions due to its unique, new taste.
We also watched a nice movie about global warming, a lecture given by the to-be president Al Gore. The whole movie was amount how human interference in nature was resulting in the extinction o the planet itself. It was about how many people thought of global warming as a mere myth. Ice in the polar caps was melting causing water levels to rise which would eventually result in the flooding of land. About how deforestation was disturbing the ecological system of the planet as CO2 levels continued to rise, raising the temperatures. Pollution of rivers and the melting of ice on the poles is causing species to become extinct. The movie encouraged people to stop the wasting of finite resources and save the planet.
